Happy Valentine’s

Hello Crafters

Just a quick pop in today, to show you what I made for Valentine’s Day as I hadn’t realised that I hadn’t shared this with you!

I made this for my other half, he loved it. The card was based around a set of Tonic Studio Dies – Someone Special Die Set, which I thoroughly recommend to have in your stash as they cut so cleanly with one pass, but you have so many options in how you use them, as they have the corner die, the pretty heart lace panel, the scalloped and straight cut hearts, heart buckle and small heart embellishment, and of course you can use the cut outs for further embellishments.

The background paper was by Santoro, and although the pictures do not show it, the hearts are all glossed, so it is a textured paper, and good quality so quite thick.

The sentiments are by Justrite – Hugs and Kisses Sentiments.

That’s it for now, I’m off to do the ironing, such fun 🙂

Have a great week

Hello Crafters

Just popping by to share with you my latest box, that was lovingly made for our neighbour, who was turning 21…..what a lovely thing to be……can just about remember!

It took around 8 hours and I honestly cannot remember what I did, when I did it and what I used to make it, all I know is, I was pretty pleased when it was done!

Hope you all had a crafty weekend.

Happy Birthday Niece!

Hello Crafters

Hope you have had a lovely weekend. As you can gather by the late hour of the posting, I have been  a bit busy (to say the least), but am very proud of myself today for cooking not 1 but 2 meals at the same time today! A full on very very lovely roast lamb dinner with all the trimmings, all home made, and full Lamb Curry ready for taster evening at Slimming World (Made from scratch too, no jar sauces here, thank you very muchly, as she puffs out her chest)! Also just before spent 2 hours walking around town, and (groan) yes, craft shopping I did too, but really shouldn’t as I should be saving as I’m off to Farnborough Make It Craft Show at end of the month, but you know, a girls gotta do……although Mr Kim bought me a Spellbinder Prizm for Valentine’s, isn’t he a sweetie?

So I did craft yesterday, but can’t show you yet, it was for Valentine’s, (hush, hush, say no more, nod, wink), so as we say, here was one I made earlier:

I used the following:

The background card is amazing, and I purchased mine from The Works, called Truly Refreshing! It is a 12″ x 12″ pad and one of the sheets has 4 of these amazing patterns, that fitted exactly with the dies. Job’s a gooden’!

Right so still got a bit to do before bed time, so I wish you lovely bloggers a wonderful week.

A Little Christmas Magic

Hello Crafters

Well by now I would think that your creative side has been put through the mill and you have all been crafting your little fingers to the bone to get those christmas cards done! Totally sympathise as I have been doing the very same thing myself. Thought I had it all covered, thinking I had started so much earlier this year….but oh boy was I wrong! So worked like a trojan Saturday, to get the last of them done, but as they say, you save the best till last, so I would like to share this tiny little box, that is bursting full of christmas spirit!

I wanted it to be full of Christmas cheer when it was open, ‘full’ being the operative word, and I think you can safely say that was achieved 🙂

I used a pre-cut box I purchased from Hunkdory Crafts, and they were really reasonably priced! They are called Mini Pop Up Box, but you can fit quite a bit in there if you don’t mind a bit of jiggery pokery, like us crafters do! They come completely blank, so the box is your oyster, so to speak, fill your boots!

The dies used on this box were:

All the card used except the red mirri card (own stash) was from Papermill Direct.

Well I hope these pictures show the beauty of this little piece of Christmas magic.

That’s it for now, hope you have a wonderful crafty week 🙂

Pop Up Box with a difference!

Hello Crafters

Have you had a good weekend? I am a little late today posting as we had family round for dinner, and I think I bored them silly with all the healthy food talk, of which I am now an avid fan. Mind you I have also never eaten so much in my life!

Talking about healthy, it was Mr Kim’s birthday last week, so the theme for my little pop up was about veggies. So cute these little Lawn Fawn fellas!

Here you can see the box folded flat ready to send:

ksc-fold-flat-veggie-box-sep-16-4

Then you release the box and up it pops!:

Although it looks like just a pop up box, it has a secret….the little name tags pull up to show another veggie underneath! It was my first veggie box but also my first slider too!

I used the Lawn Fawn Slider dies to make the holes. It was quite complex to get the slider in the right place, but it looks like the veggies are all ready to harvest. Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders was used as the strutts in between to connect the other veggies to and keep the box shape.

The box was made using Spellbinders scalloped pop up box and then covered in the paper.

I used blue fun foam cut with Lawn Fawn Puffy Clouds for the backdrop. They were all stamped with Memento Inks, and the Misty tool was used, so I could stamp the images twice to get a real indepth colour to them. These are just so much fun, and there is no end to  what you can do with them.

Well I hope you had a super sunday with good company and fine food. Have a wonderful week.

Fairy Exploding Box

Hello Crafters

How has you’re weekend been so far? Well this weekend has felt like I’ve been on a cyber ride running along at 200 miles an hour, I’m positive it was Friday afternoon 5 mintues ago, so where it’s gone I do not know…..if you see a Friday evening whizz past, chased by Saturday and followed by a rapid Sunday, can you trip them up please and send them back!

It has been a lovely journey though, as Friday saw the arrival of my friend’s birthday, and I couldn’t wait to give her the very special gift I had prepared for her, not a card but a box, and you all know I love making my boxes. This one saw the start a while ago, when I made some wonderful columns out of ordinary white card, and done my best to make them look like ruins, which I am proud to say I think they do but that is for you to decide in a moment when I give you the Exploding Fairy Box.

Now this box took 7 dedicated hours of painting, colouring, stamping, distressing and building, and I enjoyed every single minute, being lost in the world of Fairy Folk! No ordinary Fairies, but tiny little fairies that require only a box to live in.

I made a base box, and the instructions for this can be found on my other blog post. Remember that each box I make is different depending on what height is needed to accommodate all of the pieces.

The majority of the images were Lawn Fawns Fairy Friends stamp and dies, Puffy Clouds die, Lawn Fawn Forest Border, Lawn Fawn Stitched Mountain Border Die, Mama Elephant Grassy Trio, Creative Expressions Trailing Ivy, Spellbinders Curved Square & Decorative Curved Square. I think that’s it! The columns were entirely made by me with no die just my imagination! (There is a brain in there somewhere lol!).

Saturday appeared and this was my once a year card glass with a lovely group of ladies from Great Wakering, and we spent a few hours together making cards, which really flew by, but it was a lovely day, and we even had some lovely new faces too! I am considering having an evening card sessions once a month at home to see if I could actually make this a regular thing, and help others learn new things, so I was inspired by these lovely ladies.

Sunday was Mr Kim’s birthday, and we went for a birthday meal at Toby, with a few family members, so that was great too. I was very good and didn’t have too many things I shouldn’t, but I think Mr Kim had a bit too much, but that is what birthdays are all about!

So all in all, a really lovely weekend with lots of lovely people! I am feeling truly blessed to know so many wonderful people 🙂

Here’s wishing you a happy week ahead.

Happy Anniversary!

Hello Crafters

Hope you are having a lovely easy sunday, sometimes to ‘Chillax’ is all we need to feel ready to take on the world. That was my intention today, but fatally, I picked up a cloth….and she’s off! Polishing, hoovering and 2 re-arranged rooms later, I finally sit here to write the blog! My Mum always said ‘Put a cloth in her hand and watch her go!’ Lol 🙂

So although I made 2 cards, I’m not sure if they are good enough for you my friends, so I am sharing a card I made a little while ago for my son’s 1st Anniversary bless! When I ordered this die I didn’t look at the size, and I was really surprised when it turned up, and I couldn’t decide if it was a ‘good’ bigger or not! So only one way to find out eh! This was made using the new Spellbinders Stacey Caron Fairmont Labels and Fairmont Decorative Accent dies.

The decorative accent does have really beautiful embossing and can be used for male cards, but the Labels are beautiful, especially for card bases, as the largest die is 13.3 cm sq. (5 1/4″).

Yesterday my friend came round and we were looking at different things, and it was so good to spend time with someone who shares a passion as you do. She really is such a lovely lady, and isn’t it amazing how someone can just mention a small thing, and it sets you off on a tangent to craft.

Hope your inspiration surges this week.

Hugs
