Goal!

Hello Crafters

Well thank goodness someone turned the oven down, think it must have been a fellow crafters prayer (The Cobweborium Emporium) that did it – thank you muchly Cobs!

I have yet again been exceptionally busy, I know how a dog that chases his tail feels now, except I not only catch it, I overtake it! I had a busy day picking up my son’s first car, and taking it over to him, and then in the afternoon, I was busy baking Cappuccino Cupcakes and then flying over to my youngest sons for his house warming barbecue, so we had a lovely family day, bit windy but better than being burnt to a crisp!

Today I’ve been busy baking bread rolls, making cards, housework and I will shortly be off to finish the ironing before making my lunch for work. I really am getting toooooo busy to work!

Anyway a quick share of my son’s birthday card, which he opened today, so I know I’m safe to show you!

Items Used:

  • 15 x 15cm Base Card
  • Lily of the Valley – Football Trio Stamp
  • Creative – Stars Dies
  • Cheery Lyn – Son Die
  • Spectrum Noir Pens

My son is an avid football supporter, and he supports my team Tottenham Hotspur, I was born a mile away from the football ground, but never quite made it to actually watch a match there!

Well I hope you all have a great week and can’t wait to see your crafty makes!

Crafty Buddy Share – Fairy Pop Up Box

Hello Crafters

Hope you’re having a great week, and the inspiration is free flowing!

As promised in my last post, you can catch up here if you missed it, my craft buddy came a callin’ on Saturday, and as she is such a busy lady, we made the most of our time! We had a great time crafting, chatting and designing.

Yvonne has been crafting a long while but is limited to how much time she gets to make things, as her work is often intensive mentally and physically and long hours, which leaves little time to do what she loves, but she has worked tirelessly to ensure that she has all she needs to make sure by the time she retires, her stash will be all fired up and ready to go! Lovely lady with a great sense of human (has to have to put up with me!), with a big heart.

A while ago I made an exploding box for her birthday, and she absolutely loved it, Fairy Exploding Box.

We were discussing my recent purchase of Marianne Craftables Pop Up Box and we decided to make, would you believe, a fairy pop up box! I have blogged about this die before, but genuinely believe it is worth every penny.

So without further ado, here is her creation and inspiration:

Isn’t that a wonderful little box!

Here’s the items she used:

Well thank you for coming and joining us in our Craft Buddy share.

Have a great week!

Happy Ellie Birthday!

Hello Crafters

How’s your crafting days going? This week, when I have been getting in from work, I have been sneaking off to my craft room. Unusual for me, as I’m usually sorting bits out ad never seem to get any ‘time’ during the week, but I just went there and played. This resulted in 2 little cards, and a new sort of style for me, felt quite brave actually!

This one was made around a stamp from Woodware, originally bought last year to use on a baby project, and didn’t in the end, as you do. This time I just wanted to try some colouring, so stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black, and coloured with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. Once he was finished, I just had to give him a home, and I have been really trying to use my scraps, so this card was made from all the scrap bits of paper and unused cut-outs from previous projects. I loved him so much, I did another.

…..and of course, equally loved this too! So I now have 2 children’s reserved cards, and I have left the greeting blank inside, so I can fill this out for the occasion when needed.

Hope this made you smile as much as it did me. Have a great week

Fairy Shaker Birthday

Hello Crafters

Well yet again I cannot believe that another weekend is almost over, ever feel like ‘Stop the world I want to get off!’ I feel like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, ‘I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date!’

However I have completed my lesson kits and dates booked, so *excited* I am! It will be so much fun departing knowledge to great people whilst doing something I love, sigh…..meanwhile back on the gravy train, life must go on! Indeed it does, so I have just a little card to share with you. It was made for my great niece (oh I do sound old), but again those little fairies came out to play and help me make her smile.

I used Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends for the main characters, Spellbinders Scalloped Circle Large for the window, Cheery Lynn Horizon Fishtail Banners for the sentiment.

Inside the window, Lawn Fawn Puffy CloudsΒ and Mama Elephant Grassy Trio.

The background papers were from The Range.

Short and sweet tonight, but hopefully I will have more time to chat next week, beside Poldark has just started, and a woman has to do what a woman has to do! πŸ™‚

Have a wonderfully crafty week!

Fairy Christmas Magic!

Hello Crafters

Firstly let me start by saying that I am sorry I haven’t been to visit you all that much this week in the world of blogging, but I have been soooo busy making card kits and getting paperwork prepared ready for my first lesson. As a perfectionist, this is a task that I want to be right, and now I have the first kits all together, I can relax a bit, it is just a matter of setting a date now, phew!

I did have a quick play last Sunday, as I purchased a new set of stamps and dies and have been itching to try them, as always πŸ™‚ I also had a tinker with a few bits, but I only have time to show you one today, but I will share the rest, promise!

As the title suggests, yet again Christmas was the theme and I was delighted that these little ladies displayed at their finest! The stamps and dies used were Lawn Fawn Frosty Fairy Friends and coloured with Spectrum Noir Pens. I added stickles frosted lace to the snow and I tried to show it in the photo, so hope you can see it. It does capture the snow quite well. The Card Base was Creative Expressions Double Pierced Background Rectangles and the label was made using Die-namics Stitched Fishtail Tags Stax. The craft papers were from the range.

So there you go, just a quick little card share today, and I am doing my best to catch up with all the posts, just one thing? How on earth do you manage to fit all those posts in and full time work, and look after the house? You guys are my hero’s!!!

Pop Up Santa

Hello Crafters!

Hope you are enjoying the Sunday sunshine. I have been reading about the World Card Making Day and thought I need to share a card too.

This one was my first pop up and it happens to be a Christmas card. I haven’t yet bought any of the dies that make it so easy, so this was all worked out by yours truly, so it isn’t perfect but it is unique!

Now I started writing out how to make this, but to be honest, it is so complex the best thing I would say is, just have fun experimenting and finding your own way of how to put these things together. I didn’t find it hard, but it was time consuming and fun at the same time, as learning something new is always fun! Certainly made a few boobs along the way, but all are valuable lessons!

The best thing about this was putting together little ol’ Santa here. He was a real pleasure and must admit, made me have a giggle or two on a few stories I remember about Santa and the children! This die is from Marianne Designs – Eline’s Santa. Well worth having in your die stock, just a happy fella, and there are other put together creatures, that I will be investing in at some point.

The fence on this had me questioning if I had lost my marbles making it a bit complicated but it worked in the end. The mountains in the back were just randomly cut from brown card and distressed with Picket Fence and then a gel pen to mark some features, and I was really please with how it looked!

All in all, much experimenting and loads of fun.

Have a lovely crafty Sunday.

Fairy Exploding Box

Hello Crafters

How has you’re weekend been so far? Well this weekend has felt like I’ve been on a cyber ride running along at 200 miles an hour, I’m positive it was Friday afternoon 5 mintues ago, so where it’s gone I do not know…..if you see a Friday evening whizz past, chased by Saturday and followed by a rapid Sunday, can you trip them up please and send them back!

It has been a lovely journey though, as Friday saw the arrival of my friend’s birthday, and I couldn’t wait to give her the very special gift I had prepared for her, not a card but a box, and you all know I love making my boxes. This one saw the start a while ago, when I made some wonderful columns out of ordinary white card, and done my best to make them look like ruins, which I am proud to say I think they do but that is for you to decide in a moment when I give you the Exploding Fairy Box.

Now this box took 7 dedicated hours of painting, colouring, stamping, distressing and building, and I enjoyed every single minute, being lost in the world of Fairy Folk! No ordinary Fairies, but tiny little fairies that require only a box to live in.

I made a base box, and the instructions for this can be found on my other blog post. Remember that each box I make is different depending on what height is needed to accommodate all of the pieces.

The majority of the images were Lawn Fawns Fairy Friends stamp and dies, Puffy Clouds die, Lawn Fawn Forest Border, Lawn Fawn Stitched Mountain Border Die, Mama Elephant Grassy Trio, Creative Expressions Trailing Ivy, Spellbinders Curved Square & Decorative Curved Square. I think that’s it! The columns were entirely made by me with no die just my imagination! (There is a brain in there somewhere lol!).

Saturday appeared and this was my once a year card glass with a lovely group of ladies from Great Wakering, and we spent a few hours together making cards, which really flew by, but it was a lovely day, and we even had some lovely new faces too! I am considering having an evening card sessions once a month at home to see if I could actually make this a regular thing, and help others learn new things, so I was inspired by these lovely ladies.

Sunday was Mr Kim’s birthday, and we went for a birthday meal at Toby, with a few family members, so that was great too. I was very good and didn’t have too many things I shouldn’t, but I think Mr Kim had a bit too much, but that is what birthdays are all about!

So all in all, a really lovely weekend with lots of lovely people! I am feeling truly blessed to know so many wonderful people πŸ™‚

Here’s wishing you a happy week ahead.

Hugs
