Christmas Scene

Hello Crafters

Hope you all had a smashing Christmas and Santa bought you lots of crafting goodies. I was very lucky and received some wonderful dies, and vouchers which of course I spent immediately! I also was given a beautiful hand made teddy, and my little laddie thought it was his, so now I have had to put it in a safe place in case he runs off with it!

He is a good boy though, but he does know he’s cute and very stubborn, luckily I have an even bigger stubborn streak, so he knows when he’s pushed his luck, but you still got to love him!

Well despite the obvious distractions, I have managed to craft today, but I have to keep it until the recipient has opened it, so I will have to share a Christmas card with you.

This is a first time project for me as I bought this die a while ago, but have only just had time to play around, but I think it has so much potential, and for all you got it is a reasonably priced die.

Craft Items Used:

The box card die comes with all the accessories to make a complete scene, but I wanted a winter scene, so used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders in blue design card and vellum. Although you can’t see it in the photos, to make it shimmer, I added Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter Pen.

The pictures don’t do it justice, but it looked like a real wintry scene, and the beauty of it is that it folds flat to post, and wasn’t very bulky at all.

Well that’s it for now, all that’s left is to wish you a Very Merry New Year and I look forward to sharing my makes and visiting you all in 2017.

Merry Christmas one and all!

Hello Crafters

Just a very quick pop in to say, I hope you have managed to survive the last minute shopping, the baking of the royal family mince pies, the endless yards of wrapping and ribbon and bows, and the frantic tidying of the whole house………or is that just me? 🙂

Well I hope you are now chilling with the ice cold glass of wine that you fought so hard for in the supermarket this morning, or enjoying that well earned cup of tea/coffee.

Thank you to all of you who follow my blog and come and visit me, you are truly a very talented bunch, and I feel honoured that you take the time to visit.

Whatever you are doing or wherever you maybe, we would like to wish you a Very Merry Christmas and an extra special 2017.

Happy Crafting

Little Reindeer Delivery

Hello Crafters

How has your week been? Probably as manic and busy as always, (as mine was that is why I didn’t manage to post last week – soz!), but this week my other half had his cancer op, which I am pleased to say went swimmingly well and now all the radiotherapy is over, inside and out, and hopefully well on the way to recovery, phew! Came home Thursday and is already down the allotment today lol 🙂 Probably making sure no one has run off with his beans!

So although I have had a couple of days off to help sort things out, I have had a little chance to play, and something I am itching to show you but can’t just yet! In the meantime, I can show you these cute little reindeer cards that I have made for a couple of family members, and I am sure it will put a smile on their faces when they receive them.

Here’s the first one:

As you can see they are just so cute, and this I set in a night time setting, helping Santa get all the presents together! The little bell I picked up from The Works and for a pack of 60 different colours for 99p – bargain! The stamp and die sets were from Lawn Fawn Toboggan Together, as was the Stitched Hills & Puffy Clouds. The sentiment was from Justrite Festive Poinsettia & Justrite Christmas Inner Thoughts for the inside sentiments.

The second card….

…shows these cute little penguins playing in the snow and is a daytime sceen.  Again the wonderful Lawn Fawn Toboggan Together stamp and die set and the front sentiment is from the same set. The inner sentiment is a stamp I got free with a magazine last year. The card used here was mainly from my stash except the white card was from Papermill Direct. The embossing folder was from Stampin’ Up and has been discontinued but there are plenty of falling snow embossing folders, take your pick!

So there you have it for now, I have been producing quite a few Christmas cards, but next week I hopefully will have something else to show you.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Happy Anniversary!

Hello Crafters

Hope you are having a lovely easy sunday, sometimes to ‘Chillax’ is all we need to feel ready to take on the world. That was my intention today, but fatally, I picked up a cloth….and she’s off! Polishing, hoovering and 2 re-arranged rooms later, I finally sit here to write the blog! My Mum always said ‘Put a cloth in her hand and watch her go!’ Lol 🙂

So although I made 2 cards, I’m not sure if they are good enough for you my friends, so I am sharing a card I made a little while ago for my son’s 1st Anniversary bless! When I ordered this die I didn’t look at the size, and I was really surprised when it turned up, and I couldn’t decide if it was a ‘good’ bigger or not! So only one way to find out eh! This was made using the new Spellbinders Stacey Caron Fairmont Labels and Fairmont Decorative Accent dies.

The decorative accent does have really beautiful embossing and can be used for male cards, but the Labels are beautiful, especially for card bases, as the largest die is 13.3 cm sq. (5 1/4″).

Yesterday my friend came round and we were looking at different things, and it was so good to spend time with someone who shares a passion as you do. She really is such a lovely lady, and isn’t it amazing how someone can just mention a small thing, and it sets you off on a tangent to craft.

Hope your inspiration surges this week.

Fern Birthday

Hello Crafters

I quite expect you to be lapping up the sun today, and who can blame you, the brightness and warm of the sun can make you feel amazing! Sunshine reminds me of a beautiful garden, so I thought I would share a card with you that I made for a friend but unfortunately Royal Mail lost…again…and has lost a few others too! However I will concentrate on the fact that I did have some lovely pictures and will try to re-create this again.

I have always loved the mono theme, so I saw a card recently, and thought that would look good in black and white, so I set about a birthday card along those lines, but then I caught a glimpse of distress inks which set me on a different track for the topper, how many times have you done that???

Anyway here’s the end result and I was amazed at how the topper popped and completmented the black and white so much.

The floral and fern stamps were from Inkylicious Fern Leaves, Pilkington Floral Silhouettes. Justrite Forever Friends, was used for the front sentiment and corners, these are one of favourites. The inside sentiment was by  Phil Martin Decadent Damask.

The little butterfly on the front was cut using a punch in parchment and coloured with co-ordinating distress inks – Wilted Violet, Worn Lipstick, Tumbled Glass and Cracked Pistachio, which turned out to be a lovely combo I hadn’t used before!

The main card base was cut from black and white card stock from Papermill Direct, and the die used was Tonic Studios – Harrop Die. This die I bought thinking it was a standard size (that will teach me for ordering too quickly without looking!) and I was after a scalloped edge rectangle set, and almost sent it back, buuuuttttt…..it makes great base cards, and inbetween the large scallops you see above, it has small scallop dies that complement (see the white edged front panel), so really you get 2 sets for the price of one, and it is quite a large set. For a wrong buy I was quite pleased!

Anyway, it’s time to go create, and I am sure you have many plans also, so I wish you a wonderfully crafty week!

Ladies Day

Hello Crafters

Just a quick pop in as I have been so busy, enjoying spending time with my eldest, it was his birthday this weekend, so we went out to town for the day, and I bought him some clothes that he wanted. We had a lovely Slimming World syn free dinner, which filled us all to the tips of our toes! Who said you have to starve on a diet? Believe you me, I eat more now than I have ever done! Wonderful recipes and you really cannot tell that they belong to a  no fat  group!!

All in all we had a lovely weekend, and the weather held up too. As you probably can guess, I didn’t get any crafting done, but I have a card to show you from a couple of weeks ago.

This started by stamping the lovely new Tonic Ladies Day stamp. At first I just wanted to see how I could colour her with the Spectrum Noir Pens, but she looked so pretty when I finished, I had to give her a home, and using Inkylicious Spring Awakening and Trailing Vines, I created a background using Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Shabby Shutters distress inks, and a mask to keep the bottom clean.Once dry, I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black, and then the sentiments were from Justrite Forever Friends. The inside greeting was stamped onto die cuts from Spellbinders Label Thirty Four and Fourty Nine.

She looks quite a sassy lady, and I am sure we all have one of her inside us bursting to come out 🙂

Hope you all have a lovely week.

Bye for now

Birthday Boy!

Hello Crafters

Have you been enjoying this wonderful sunshine? I couldn’t resist going outside and gardening, my craft room was saying ‘pick me, pick me’, but I had to go outside and enjoy the warmth. It was well worth it, as the garden looks fantastic, and of course, my other half enjoys me invading his territory for a while!

Here’s the rockery that we have just started, and as we find bigger and better rocks, we shall build it up, and we edged all the lawn and hopefully in the next couple of weeks, the mess of wood at the back will become a shed! So spring has sprung and so have we!

I have been crafting though, and I enjoyed every minute, this time for my nephew’s birthday. Just wanted something clean and simple, so that was exactly what I ended up with. I love these Stampin’ Up The Open Sea stamps. I use them quite often, think they have been retired now. The numbers are Spellbinders Victorian Numbers. The clock is Marianne Clock, and the background sheet is from The Range – Craft Sensations Some Memories – brilliant value and such good quality.

My next card was again another bereavement, just seems no end at the moment, so I have made another sympathy card. This was using Spellbinders Victorian Corners, Heirloom Oval, Grand Decorative Ovals (Discontinued), Paper from Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters, one of my favourites. The stamps are from Justrite Caring Thoughts.

Well that’s all for today, but I will be back next weekend, with hopefully some fun makes.

Have a lovely evening

Hugs
