Perfectly Vintage!

Hello Crafters

Nobody would ever believe that we are suppose to be in the sunny season, but at least here in Southend, we didn’t get any of that nasty wet stuff we were suppose to get yesterday, and today I was out in the garden all morning, planting all the bedding plants and hanging baskets, and I must say they look a treat! Can’t wait for them to bush out and bloom, and I will put a picture on here when they do! 🙂

Yesterday in amongst cooking and cleaning, and walking to the allottment plant sale with my little buddy, I did manage to make a couple of cards, but the first card I made, I am still not a hundred percent if I like it (oh yes, one of those sessions)!

Here it is, see what you think:

I stamped the lighthouse image and coloured it in, cut it out using Creative Expressions Tessa Frames & Tags, then make the background using the rope background card from Nautical Rose by The Range, mounted to navy blue card. Mount to white base card.

Inside I stamped onto white card Creative Expressions – Tessa’s Anchors Away stamp, with Majestic Blue Versafine Ink, then mount to silver edge navy card. Follow same as above to finish. Die cut the ship using Marianne Boats & Cars Die, once cut, leave the card in the die and colour the sails with Salty Ocean and Stormy Sky, the hull of the boat coloured with Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks.

So not happy with this, I put it away for another day, and started on the next one, and this one I was happy with. I do love the Vintage -Trio Stamps from Lily of The Valley, and they are fun to colour too.

One of the most useful dies I have bought has been these MFT Dienamics Stitched Fishtail Banners, and the Stitched Tags. I used lots of off cuts of card I had and just layered until I was happy. Great way to use up scraps, ‘cos we all know we can’t throw that piece of card away, as it will come in handy! Point Proved 🙂 To finish I used Glossy accents on little bits of the coloured in image, think you can just see it.

Anyway, think you can say, that card is now done!

Well must dash, lots to do before bedtime, and then off to work we go, hi-ho hi-ho

Just a Little Thank You :)

Hello Crafters

Just thought I would pop by and show you a few little thank you notes I put together, I still haven’t finished yet, but I couldn’t wait to share them with you.

I thought that it would be a good idea to use the gift that I was given in the ‘Thank You’ so here is the finished result:-

20141229_133705I was a very lucky girl and received Spellbinders Labels 38, Marianne Cars and Boats. The Marianne dies are exquisite and cut beautifully so I am looking forward to having some fun with those!

I also received some beautiful Spellbinders Corner Flourish 2 and Basket Weave Embossing folder. As you can see the corners look beautiful and the centrepiece was the negative from the corners.

I actually used the other corner die on the Little Wooden Trinket Box which you can see here.

The other Thank You was for a gift given to me from a friend, who no longer had any use for some stamps she had, so I used the stamp blocks to say ‘Thank You’ but they also came in handy to make a few gift bags.

So all in all I feel very lucky. I also had some lovely friendship stamps, which I will be using in the not to distant feature and a few more Distress Inks, and this means that my Distress Ink Collection is almost complete! (Did I speak to soon?)

I still have a few Thank You’s to do and I will post them as and when I finish them, so for now, thanks to you for stopping by and I will see you soon
