Birthday Cake Box

Hello Crafters

How has your crafty week been, making lots of lovely goodies I hope!

As I post the garden box last week I thought this week I would share a birthday box I made for my manager at work. It was a lot of work, but using texture paste, which is something I don’t use much of, but did have a lot of fun whilst learning.

It took round 8 1/2 hours to make, but was so chuffed with it, that sharing is the only thing that is good enough.

The cake in the centre has an electric light that when you lift the top of cake up, which is on a hinge, you can switch it on and watch it flicker! The little tags was for the rest of the office staff to write their birthday greetings on and each of the four sides had a pocket to put them in.

The extra bonus was colouring in the fairy and teddy bears, which was a great relaxing time after all the stress of the day.

Here’s what was used:

  • Creative Expressions – New York Collection Union Square
  • Marianne Designs – Decorative Swirls (LR0269)
  • Crafters Companion – Numbers
  • Circa Design – Celebration Number Stamps
  • My Favourite Things – Anything but basic Stamps, Fairy Happy Stamp & Die, Friends Furever Stamp & Dies, Stitched Tags
  • Heartfelt Creations – Fleur Border
  • Cheery Lynn – Horizon Fishtail Borders

If it is your birthday today, I hope you have a wonderful day πŸ™‚

Hugs

A Beautiful Garden In A Box

Hello Crafters

How are you all. My it has been a while hasn’t it, you just don’t realise where the time goes, I swear it was just last week I made a blog post!

Well things have been mighty busy, finishing the house, sorting cupboards, getting to grips with my new job, crafting and of course looking after little legs who needs a walk at least twice a day, little legs or not! As you can see he has a hard life!

Anyway, I thought it would be a great start to come back with a bang and show you a pop up box card I recently made Mr Kim for his birthday.

Loads of things were used so here’s the list for you:

So my crafting buddies what have you been making? I have missed you all and thank you for popping back and visiting, and for the lovely people who have just joined – Hello, Welcome and thank you πŸ™‚

Hope you have a great week.

Hugs

Where Have You Been?

Hello Crafters

I firstly must apologise for my absence, not that I haven’t had time to make cards to share with you, quite the opposite, I have made quite a few, but just have been struggling to get even 5 minutes to share these creations with you, and I have so much I want to share with you too!

One of the reasons time is limited is due to joining the wonderful colouring classes of Kit & Clowder, and you can have a look for yourself here. You can join very simply and you can be like myself, a beginner or advanced and still have loads of fun and support to do something relaxing and worthwhile. Have a peek and should you join, just give my email address to them and you get a discount and so do I, win win all round πŸ™‚

Anyway, here is the first few projects I have done, and I still have so much to learn:

The first image I learnt about blending colours, and that is an on going learning curve but loved how simple it was to do, I just need to get plenty of practice.

My second image I really enjoyed this one, again blending colours but I felt very proud of how the skin tone came out – this is colouring over grey scale and you can buy the image fromΒ Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps

This was learning how to colour over grey scale too and this image was from the very talented Tim Jeffs – amazingly talented – and you can visit him here at Intricate Ink.

So I still have lots to share, and when I get more time I can’t wait to show you. For now though I hope you have a wonderful week and don’t get burnt.

Hugs
