Floral Birthday

Hello Crafters

Well didn’t it turn out nice this weekend. I was at a charity event yesterday held once a year, and it was formed by my nephew’s best friend and my brother and his wife when they lost Aaron in Afghanistan in 2009. It’s called the Aaron Lewis Foundation and each year they hold their major event to raise funds for various charities supported. This year they presented a young disabled lad with his own sports wheel chair, and it didn’t take him but 5 minutes before he was racing around all over the place with a massive smile on his face. Wonderful to see! My job was to take the orders on the burger stall and this year it was busier than ever, so busy I couldn’t even get to take a bite out of my lunch! Started around 10.30 and finished about 9ish but although exhausting it is rewarding knowing how much it all helps, and the atmosphere this year was really upbeat, with even more teams joining for the annual rugby matches, amazing effort by everyone, and it was a brilliant day!

One of the ladies, Aaron’s cousin’s wife, had her birthday on this day too, so today I have the card to share with you, I also made a little gift box but didn’t take any photos.

Items Used:

  • Card Base 13 x 10 1/2 mm, Box Base – 13 1/2 x 11
  • Creative Expressions – Mauritus
  • Spellbinders – Labels 47,  Sentiments One
  • Unknown Brand – Tiny Bows
  • Distress Ink – Tattered Rose

The Mauritius die is so versatile and beautiful as you can see that you can use it to create the decorative topper or just as a decorative insert. Although this is a UK A6 die, it is so  pretty and really eye catching.

Thank you for popping by, and I hope you all have a wonderful week.

  2. Thanks Cobs. It was one of those dies that just memorised me and I don’t usually buy the A6 size as I like to have a choice of large or small, but couldn’t resist and needless to say, I think it will be used on many an occasion. Thanks for stopping by 🙂 x

  3. What a great card! I love all that floral paper! So pretty and enhanced by your die cutting! Kudos to you for helping at the fundraiser! 🙂

    1. Thank you! That floral paper was a complete bargain from our local store ‘The Range’. It bought in a mass load of paper pads, where the quality was so good and thick it is definitely card. What you can’t see is all the patterns have either glitter or shimmer or texture and the pads were 8″ x 4″ with 32 designs in each for a wonderful £3.99. I have a few different ones needless to say lol 🙂 x
