Little Packets

Hello Crafters

Hope all is good in your world.

Today I thought I would just pop in and share this amazing set of dies recently purchased. I seem to be having a period of ‘I love anything by Marianne Design‘, you know, when you just seem to absolutely love everything you see of theirs for no apparent reason? Started with the sweet little animal dies and has sadly just progressed, and I am hoping I will get over it soon (and so is Mr Kim!).

….but this set of dies I think, has much potential and is well worth the investment.

Makes perfect sized seed packets and comes with lots of dies so you can embellish the packets

I also used them for making money wallets for inside cards:

There you have it, really think it is worth keeping in your go to list of dies, very quick and simple. There is a front panel die I haven’t used here, but will cut a rectangle with little rounded corners to place on the front, could come in handy as a sentiment topper to stamp on too.

Have a great week

Not A Box!

Hello Crafter

Hope you are all having a super duper Mother’s Day no matter where you are or where you’re at!

Now last week I said that I was going to bring you a box, but I clean forgot a tiny teenie little thing……that yesterday was my birthday, and although I got to my craft room, it was only enough time for a quick make to share with you today, and then today being Mum’s Day, I got dragged kicking and screaming to have a meal with my sons (if you believe that you will believe anything)! So two hard torturous days of being forced to eat naughty things and enjoying them way too much, that which I should not, but I’ve been working hard to keep this new found figure of mine, so I have a few (a real few! pounds to spare, which are well and truly used up)….this girl knows how to boogie on down with food lol 🙂

So here today I have to share with you a stamp Mr Kim kindly bought for my birthday:

It’s called ‘Going To Seed‘ by Woodware and although it is an older stamp, it is one of those I kept meaning to get, but kept getting pushed to the back of the queue, so finally this injustice has been put right, and I am now the proud owner! ‘Birthday Kisses‘ stamp also by Woodware too. Distress inks Barn Door, Dried Marigold and Scattered Straw made the background strip by masking off and brushing the colours backwards and forwards until I get the right depth of colour. Mr Kim also bought me a craft pack of card and papers, which I also used to make the above card. He has been taught well me thinks 🙂

I also was given an updated light box made by my brother’s own fair hands (so means a lot), and although I omitted to say that light boxes don’t have a top, it in fact works well, as you can see in the photos.

The above photos were taken without the light on to give a more ‘end of day’ theme.

I was also spoilt with money from my sons, a new pair of boots (desperately needed as I had actually completely walked the heels off the old pair) from Mr Kim, and a lovely camisole top and beautiful print over shirt from my other brother and sister-in-law. Wasn’t I just so spoilt (Yes I am smiling like a Cheshire cat) and of course the spoiling continued today, a whole weekend of pure spoiling, my can a girl get use to that!

Although I had to share today with my little best buddy, Will, it is his 2nd birthday, and we bought him a squeaky skunk toy (which he tried to emulate later by rubbing in ‘you know what’ in the park), and then had to have a lovely shower, followed by leftovers from Mum’s day dinner meat (of which he made light work)

I swear he’s saying “Did I give you permission to take pictures Mrs!”

He’s such a joy and makes me laugh all the time, and his latest feat to say yes with a nod of the head when he wants something. Won’t be long before he’s talking I swear 🙂

That’s it for now, so enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and I will catch up with you soon.

Happy Mother’s Day 🙂

Male Birthday Card

Hi Crafters

Hope your week is going well. Just a quick pop in to show you a card I made a few weeks ago, doing the splats at the weekend made me remember this card.

I do love a bit of abstract, and any splatter or splodge is always a cause of smiles, and recently I had a male family members birthday, and had already made a birthday card last year for his favourite hobby, so was trying to figure out what I could do, when I suddenly remembered he loved little fluffy kittens and cats, so I dived into my bitsa die box, and came out with a sale item I bought a while ago, and one of those “no idea why I bought it” purchases, except for it was such a sweet image! Made a centre piece with Lawn Fawn Stackable Circles and added a splash of colour with the Brilliance Gold Ink. I used the Stampin’ Up Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to add interest, and added Justrite’s Stacking Sentiment. Cut the Cute Kitten in black to keep with the black and white theme. Finished with some black and white twine.

On the inside I added the Woodware Birthdays Are Good For You over the stamped splatters and abstract pieces.

In case you can’t resist him either, he’s from Frantic Stamper Cute Kitten.

Enjoy your week 🙂

OMG 13!

Hi Crafters

Hope you all had a lovely week 🙂

Today as much as I am disappointed in not having another lovely box to share with you, I had to find time to make 2 cards for my grandsons, they will be 13 on my birthday (lovely birthday gift that was), so I couldn’t fit it all in, so I will have to keep you in suspenders until next week, so watch this space!

So I woke up with an idea yesterday morning for the cards, and they sort of went to plan so see what you think:

Card 1:

I don’t think I have to tell you experts about simple layering processes, and the card speaks for itself really. The only thing I did differently, was I cut the Creative Expressions Largest die and made that the card front, and cut the card back to fit, so the card base had the stitched edge around the border.

I used the following items:

Card 2:

This took f-o-r-e-v-e-r! I also don’t think it looks as good as it could but then I am a real hard critic on my self, so I hope you can maybe tell me what you see?

I used these items:

The thing that took the time was the number 13. First I printed the number templates and then cut them out. Then I cut ‘I don’t know how many’ lovely little emojis and then the backings in all different colours and papers, and then layered it up, and I finished with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Clear Pen, and then Glossy Accents. Although you can’t see it here, the gloss sparkles with glitter.

Well I hope you like my attempts at trying to remember what is was like to be 13 again! I remember thinking how grown up I was and why oh why couldn’t the adults realise this!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

In The Jungle….

Hello Crafters

Well here as promised is the latest fun box (as I call them) for you, and this one is a birthday box for a child, or adult if they love nanimals! 🙂

This one I started by cutting the box and using distress inks, coloured the inside and outside to create an open field feeling. Cut some grass for them to stand on. Using the trees and leaves that come with the pop up box die, I cut four trees in various off cuts of card. I then added the nanimals and added the sentiments to finish with tags.

Items Used:

This is available to purchase here – Shop

Aren’t they just the cutest things, well no doubt I will bore you to tears after I get over my obsession, as there are loads of ideas floating around, so normal service will probably not be resumed for quite a while!

Have a great week

A New Addition!

Hello Crafters

It seems the sunshine has bought out the best in people as I have been reading blogs and all of them seems so…..well full of sunshine, and happy thoughts and colours. Isn’t it amazing what a little sunshine can do?

Today I am sharing with you another happy note in that my colleague in Canada has become a grandmother again for the second time in 2 weeks! So you just have to wish a newborn soul a big hello, and I did this in a way that I could send the card without too much expense, but with the appearance of a box, which you all know by now, is getting to be a real passion with me……….

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I have gone completely ga-ga (if I wasn’t already that is) over the Marianne Design Eline’s Dies. This box took around 3 hours to make, but I was just having so much fun in putting it together I actually didn’t want to stop, I only had to as it was nearly 1am and I had to go to work the next day! This work thing does get in the way you know….(she huffs)!

In this box I used the following:

Again I used lots of scraps for majority of the cuts, only full sheets for the main box.

Well hope you all had a good weekend, and I will post another box on Wednesday, hope to see you then!

Happy Valentine’s

Hello Crafters

Just a quick pop in today, to show you what I made for Valentine’s Day as I hadn’t realised that I hadn’t shared this with you!

I made this for my other half, he loved it. The card was based around a set of Tonic Studio Dies – Someone Special Die Set, which I thoroughly recommend to have in your stash as they cut so cleanly with one pass, but you have so many options in how you use them, as they have the corner die, the pretty heart lace panel, the scalloped and straight cut hearts, heart buckle and small heart embellishment, and of course you can use the cut outs for further embellishments.

The background paper was by Santoro, and although the pictures do not show it, the hearts are all glossed, so it is a textured paper, and good quality so quite thick.

The sentiments are by Justrite – Hugs and Kisses Sentiments.

That’s it for now, I’m off to do the ironing, such fun 🙂

Have a great week
