It has been a busy few weeks since my last post, and this is due to my Mum becoming poorly, and we now know she has cancer, so my time and attention will be dedicated to her over the next period of my life, she is my best friend and my biggest supporter, so now it’s my turn to be the supportee.
I have drafted this post just before all this took place so I hope you enjoy and it gives you inspiration to get crafting 🙂
We all lead busy lives and never seem to find time to ‘mess about’ but this weekend I have been wanting to try texture paste and stencils, and yes it’s great!
The background of this card has a stencil from Crafters Workshop Antiquities Keys, Tim Holtz Matt Texture Paste. I then coated first the letters with Enchanted Gold Metallic Wax then painted a coat of Pearlescent Cosmic Shimmer. I used an image I found a long time ago and just loved the colour and added SB Corner D-Lites Corner Flourish 2. It reminded me of the peacock tail!
Then assembled using a matt and layer of teal and silver mirra card with some vintage lace and navy blue ribbon.
I also had a little play with a stencil from Clarity – Square Honeycomb. I like this stencil as you not only have the honeycomb, you also get the square frame, so two for the price of one. I used Distress Inks – Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Mowed Lawn and Rusty Hinge. Makes lovely little note-lets!
I do intend to play around some more, but for now work beacons…..hi ho hi ho it’s off to work we go…
