Happy Wedding Day!

Hello Crafters

Well what a busy few weeks that has been, 2 weddings, Family visits and birthdays! I love having family around and especially when they are happy celebrations, and catching up with old friends including great atmospheres is definitely good for the soul, and that is exactly what I have been doing, and enjoying it. Don’t get much time to socialise, so it makes it all the more special.

My son’s wedding went off wonderfully well, and the bride looked gorgeous, in fact everything did, and they looked such a happy couple, so congrats to them!

Obviously I wanted to give them a beautiful card, and I also had to make a second wedding card for them from my eldest son, so having already made the invitations, I kept to a similar theme.

This was the card I made first:

I started out with the Creative Expression New York Times Square die and starting with the centre die in silver, alternated with a pale green card. I then cut 2 pieces of White Card, 1 piece 15 cm (6″) sq and the other 5.5 cm sq (2 2/8″ sq) and using Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn, Forest Moss, blending the colours to make a background. On the larger piece I stamped in the cornerKim Styles Cards with Justrite Mix and Match Sentiment Stamps and then spritzed with Cosmic Shimmer Pearl Mist. Layered this on to Silver Mirra Card. I removed the largest die cut to use for the inside. I finished off with some green card I had in my stash. For inside the card, I printed a sentiment from my computer and then matt and layered.

Now for myKim Styles Cards card to the happy couple. I must admit I trawled the internet for months, trying to get some idea of what I should do, but in the end, I just went with my gut instinct and was pleased with the outcome.

I cut a White base card 17 cm by 17 cm (7″ sq) and then layered green, silver, patterned paper decreasing 0.5 cm (1/4″) increments. I cut 4 pieces of SB Gold Elements, I piece of SB Imperial Gold Nestabilities Ivy and stamped with LOTV Circular Sentiment.Kim Styles Cards

For the inside I used SB Regal Frame and the same paper from my stash as on the front. I printed a sentiment from my computer and the cut out using the inner regal frame.

The wedding invitation I made using the Gold Elements die, so I continued the theme into the wedding card.

It was a wonderful day, and my next project is to make a scrapbook of everybody’s wedding shots. Of course they will have all the main photographs pictures, but I think it’s fun to have the guests pictures too! I made my very first scrapbook recently and I can’t wait to blog it, but I have to give it to another happy couple first! 🙂

Well while all the celebrations were going on, my little lad Will, was a house guest at my Bosses house…..yes you read correctly……Kim Styles Cardsand I prayed he would behave. Well I need not have worried, as when I went to pick him up, Katie’s comments were and I quote “I have never met such a well behaved puppy!”.

Boy was that a proud day for me in more ways than one! He needed plenty of cuddles I heard and he was absolutely pooped for 2 days afterwards as the children kept him busy. He also leKim Styles Cardst me know that night that he wasn’t happy that I left him. Instead of sleeping in his basket next to my bed, he slept on the sofa! He can be a Diva sometimes! He also excelled at recall in his puppy training class, so as he was a good boy, he was treated to a puppy pamper today as well as a bandana!

Well, what a week that was 🙂

So now hopefully with all the excitement over, I can get back to good old fashioned beautiful crafting!

Here’s hoping you all had a wonderful weekend!
