Hello Crafters

Well where did the last few weeks go! I really think there should be a change to the amount of hours in a day to at least 36!!! Our little lad has certainly taken up some time, not that I begrudge a minute of it, but I wish I could retire. Between my card making, little lad, family and friends, let alone the cooking and cleaning, and of course my long suffering partner, it makes me wonder how I squeeze in work!

There has been much going on too, my other half’s daughter’s wedding and my sons wedding coming up, lots of birthdays and dog training classes, and my poor friend, who I have to keep swopping and changing before we get to meet up as, bless her, she has a serious allergy to dog’s, so as Will comes with me everywhere, I have to arrange a babysitter and then make sure I am hair free so she doesn’t end up with me having to perform a resuscitation on her! Oh well only another 4995 days until I retire, unless they change the age to 71 – then I will through a fit!

Enough babbling, what have I managed to squeeze in on the crafting side? I recently made 2 birthday cards, 1 for a friend and 1 for my other half’s daughter-in-law.

BLUE CARD:

This was made using Spellbinders 6×6 Matting Basics (A), Triple Floral Die set, Imperial Square Corners. Stamps used – Justrite Extended Family Large Fancy Sentiments with Cosmic Shimmer Mica Powder Pastel Blue. It was pretty straight forward and I got the idea from Amazing Paper Grace. As time was of the essence, this came together quickly with a wonderful result.

Now as any crafter knows, when you start to craft, it awakens the creativity gene, and it has to be fed, so after I finished the blue card, I got an idea in my head and wanted to experiment a little with the next card, and I am so glad I did! I was looking for something a little bit arty and abstract, and I recently bought the new Spellbinders Contemporary Diamonds. I took this and turned it, and used it as my centerpiece, using the off cuts to broaden the center. I then took an Inkylicious ‘All About Allium’, and stamped 2 toppers for the front and also used in the background after shading the edges of the patterned card with Stormy Sky Distress Inks. I then mounted on Teal Card with sticky foam pads.

I continued the theme on the inside and used a sentiment from Phil Martin to finish off.

I have created a couple more, but I can’t show you those yet, but I can show you how the little lad is doing:
