Hope your weekend has been a creative one although I expect most of you have been in the garden after yesterdays impersonation of the south of france!
Will and I on the other hand have been amusing ourselves, as he can’t go out until he has had all his jabs, which is a while yet, so I made the most of the time in my craft room! You will have to wait until next week to see those as the birthday cards have to be seen by the intendeds first – only fair!
So I have a card that I made for my son to show you today, and it feels like I am getting the hang of the male cards at long last.
I really love the stamps from Visible Image, so good for men and a bit different from cars, football and beer!
Inks: Memento – Summer Sky, Bahama Blue, Nautical Blue, Toffee Crunch, Peanut Brittle, Tuxedo Black
Dies: Poppy Stamps – Melody Music
Card: From Papermill – White and Black. The Range – Silver Mirra
It all went together quite quickly considering I wasn’t 100% sure what the finish project was going to be and mixing the pale blue and beige worked so well! Not colours I would normally put together but on that day, apparently there were no others!
On the inside, I masked off 3 areas to the size I wanted and then over stamped to match the front of the card.
I then stamped the words with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and edged with first a gold glitter pen, although you can’t see the glitter, then a black fineliner on the inside to make it pop. You could add a little grey round the edge before you remove the mask, this would add more depth, but I just edged it.
When I had finished, I actually preferred the inside, so this is a project for another time, me thinks!
All in all, I was pleased with the outcome and it was quick too! Thank goodness says Will, as he wakes from his slumber and now wants me to throw toys all over the place!
Most people want the lovely little puppy stage, but me personally, although I love him to bits, can’t wait for the adult dog, that’s my fun time. Going for walks, knowing he’s trustworthy and solid, and having quality time together with a trained dog or is that owner?!
In the meantime, Will had to have a trim around the eyes today as he was doing a very good impression of Chewbacca!
See what I mean!
There you go folks, just like I said, nothing normal in my life, not even my puppy!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I have a feeling Will may impersonate an Ewok next!
