A Little Bit Lost

Hello Crafters

How has your weekend been, with this weather I should think you’ve been constantly in your craft mode!

You would think that I would have been running and skipping into the craft room to happily create, but for the first time in 7 years, I just didn’t ‘feel the need‘ to craft, panic set in actually, the thought that it isn’t a work day but, I don’t want to craft!!!! Whatever next! “I must be ill” I thought, but the truth was, there were other things that I wanted to get out of the way, so I did just that. I cleaned, and cleaned and cleaned, sometimes you just have to go with the flow, and it worked….Sunday here and the creative mind has returned.

Part of the problem was a shock passing of a friend, I cannot believe that I had to make another Sympathy card, and it really took some effort to do, and it just didn’t flow, but I got there in the end. Life eh?

Once that was completed, creativity sort of flowed better, and this time I had a birthday to think about. It hasn’t happened

Kim Style's Cardsyet, but I can’t share the card until next weekend, but I can sort of show you what I did before.

I have a bought a present and wanted to put it in a gift package, like a basket, so I got out the Spellbinders Garden Party and made the basket. When it was complete, I had to ask myself if I am losing the plot as the gift I wanted to put in it was 3 times bigger than the basket itself…..not a good day so far……get my drift! Still I thought the basket was quite pretty and I am sure if I fill it with chocy it will find a loving home!

This meant it was back to the drawing board and I designed my own bigger and better basket, and I will share this with you soon, after the birthday girl has had first dibs!

What I can share with you though is what I made out of that very colourful background that I mentioned before. Remember this? Kim Style's CardsWell today is my son’s and nephew’s birthday, Kim Style's Cardsand I used this for my Nephew’s card. I was so pleased with the results…….it really just flew together and everything seemed to work.

I used Kaleidacolor Spectrum and a brayer, keeping the first colour in the centre. I then stamped the musician, Visible Image ‘Play It Loud’ and used Universal and Music Sooths The Soul to give the feeling of music in the air.

It just worked, so Happy Birthday boys, I am sure your having a good time!

Last but not least here is the card I made for my son….

Kim Style's Cards

I think I am finally getting the hang of using a brayer and getting the effect I really want, what do you think?

Happy Crafting

Hugs

  1. Hi Kim, Glad you have your creativity back.. stunning cards and projects.. It is hard to make Sympathy cards, I try to make before they are needed, as I cannot think what to do if needed in a hurry.
