Hope you are surviving this stormy weather today! I thought we needed to have a splash of colour and fun to cheer us all up, so I am sharing my little skateboarder friend.
I was looking to make a card for my other half’s Grandson, and I didn’t want to do the usual cars, bike’s etc, so I had a browse around a few of my favourite web sites and saw this little fella in Visible Image.
I knew straight away he was just what I wanted. He comes in a pack with stars, a grungy pattern and the words Awesome Dude! I coloured him using Spectrum Noir Pens.
Absolutely brilliant for those early junior school years right up to teenager, and beyond in some circumstances! I wanted to put him in a setting to round off the picture, so I drew in the gravel and added a shadow to ‘ground’ him. I am still building my stamp collection and haven’t got many backgrounds for this type of scene. I could have drawn and coloured a wall, but when I finished him he felt complete.
I made the coloured paper behind using a brayer and Kaleidacolor ‘Blue Breeze’ ink pad. I then found these brilliant Woodware Graffiti stamps at Craftplus. It is difficult to see the words behind the main picture, but they are brilliant as you can just leave them outlined or colour them as you want. They really helped finish off the card. As you can see in the picture you could do a multitude of things with these so it makes perfect sense to buy them, as I am sure it will be one of those sets that gets used over and over. You could colour and cut out and mount as a main title, and I think these would make a brilliant book mark too….sounds like another project to me!
Inside I used the stamps again to complete the look and overall it’s turned out a ‘right treat’ as some would say. Anyway, it’s getting late and it’s time to finish up a few things, before it’s bed time.
