Well thank goodness spring has arrived, I think we are all in need of sun rays and warmth and light long days to restore our happy bank, as I think so many people seem to be in that grumpy and dark mood recently. We ourselves have suffered some losses again this week, and it just makes you realize how mortal you are. I shall be making more Sympathy Cards today and I will post them later, but Peter went to his brother-in-laws funeral Wednesday and I made a card and tag for the flowers.
You cannot see in this shot but I used White Linen effect card with Matt Black and the Justrite Ornate Corners stamps are truly beautiful and I feel a must have for any card makers collection, even if your not an avid stamper, they are so versatile and beautiful. Coupled with Versafine ink, the images are sure to make an impact on any project. Using Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles and Tumbled Glass and Pumice Stone Distress Ink whilst still in the die, gave a beautiful feeling of sky behind the flowers. Wherever our loved ones go, I like to think they have plenty of beautiful flowers and blue sky.
The Inside theme followed the outside, and there you really see the beauty of the corners. The sentiments used were Justrite Caring Thoughts Sentiments and are brilliant as you can mix and match the words, to create your own special meaning.
Anyway, lets move on to a happier note and show you what I really wanted to share with you.
As ‘Spring has now Sprung’ as they say, someone asked me to make them a little thank you card, and I asked for a brief description of the person they wanted to send to and I was told pink and butterflies! At last something to get my teeth into! Well it wasn’t long before I created a beautiful image that was in my head immediately I heard the words.
I used a stamp from Inkylicious called Humming Bird Garden but the sentiment I made on the computer. The colours are all Distress Inks, Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass, Dusty Concord, Victorian Velvet and Milled Lavender. The ribbons are from Fantastic Ribbons. If you buy in bulk it is half the price and lovely satins and organza’s too!
And of course, every beautiful card deserves a beautiful box:-
Well I am off to create another Sympathy Card, but I hope the sun shines for you this week and may all your creations be satisfying!
Happy Spring Crafting
