Hand Made Cards

Framing Brush Strokes

Hello Crafters

How has your week been? I have been really busy with my wonderful other half, finishing off our lounge decorating and I must say all the effort was worth it, feels like another house now! Next stop, cleaning all the carpets and decorating the bedroom…..when we recover from the lounge that is 🙂

Needless to say I haven’t had a lot of opportunity to play :(, but I have had a little sneaky creativity time.

No doubt we have all had Valentine’s Day on our minds, and many of the cards have already found homes for loved ones, which I was very pleased with, and I really haven’t had any time to create more than 1 other, pictured here, but I am sure that will find a good home too.

I also had my thinking cap on for my other half’s son’s birthday. Why are men so difficult to make cards for? So I was rummaging around trying to come up with a reasonable attempt at a male card, when I came across some of the cards I had made whilst experimenting with brushes and colours.

For whatever reason, one stood out to me, and within an hour, this lovely card was created. Isn’t it strange how that happens! I just took the green card to highlight the colour from the picture, and added a few simple additions to frame the centre piece. The inside followed the same theme.

So for all those doubting Thomas’s who doesn’t understand why we make something and put it away, now know there is a method in our madness (If they believe that they will believe anything lol!)

Happy Crafting

Hand Made Cards

A Floral Note

Hello Crafters

I feel incredible lucky and life feels so happy but exhausting. I am in the process of moving 2 homes into 1, which is no mean feat when the place you are moving into does not poccess one cupboard to hide the junk in! So we have also been decorating, so we have been crafting on a bigger scale! This lead me to start thinking about colours, stamping and floral toppers. So whilst I have been painting the walls, in my mind I was designing a card with pretty flowers.

Here’s what I managed to put together quickly, inbetween lifting, carrying and shifting, as well as full time work!

I was so pleased that the card came out exactly as I had seen it in my mind. The background I made my self with distress inks and stamps also. The inside is so pretty too.

I used Spellbinders Modern Stationery 7 x 5 to frame the picture and it just seemed to compliment each other, so all in all for a quick throw together, I was especially proud!

Isn’t it funny how an idea blooms in your mind. This haunted me for a few days before I managed to get it onto paper, and it went together so quickly I surprised myself 🙂 Other days I have felt like I was designing and painting the Sistine Chapel and came out with nothing :{

Hope you enjoy the flowers!
