Hand Made Cards

Wishing You A Happy Chirstmas

Hello Crafters

I am sorry I have been a little absent but there has been so much to do and so little time, but I had to make time to just show you some of the many things I have been up to.

Hand Bag Gift Boxes 1

These handbags are perfectly sized to add a small gift inside, and the recipient can then re-use it for someone else! I will be writing a full post in the New Year on how to make them, and they are so simple you won’t believe it!

Unfortunately we had a sudden bereavement in our family, and it is never an easy thing, but at this time of year, it seems harder and more difficult to deal with, especially unexpected events and my heart goes out to all those in Glasgow and all over the world that are missing loved ones today.

My card I made was a Becca Feeken inspiration with my own twist of course, but the finished result was exactly what I wanted – elegant and simple.

More Christmas Gifts

I’ve also been busy making little stocking filler gifts, and these too will be on my blog in the New year

At present I have a fixation on boxes, so hopefully in the New Year, we will have lots of projects to show and tell, as I am sure you will be creating your hearts out!

For now though I have to get busy, finishing food shopping and baking Mince Pies and last but not least listening to Michael Bauble Chirstmas CD whilst doing the housework! 🙂

Have a wonderful Christmas

Hand Made Cards

Just A Quick Post

Hello Crafters

I expect that things are really busy for you now leading up to Christmas, and anything like myself, time just isn’t playing fair and racing by much too quick! I have been busy making boxes, gift bags, cards, envelopes, you name it and I have been trying to find an idea to fit it! I have also been playing Bob the Builder, and putting cupboards together in my new craft room, but still never seems like there is enough space.

So in amidst all the chaos, I thought I would just give you a quick peak at some the creativity that I have been doing:-

First was a 50th Birthday for my boss – he really didn’t want this birthday so I tried not to rub his face in it, but I was really pleased with the card and it didn’t take long at all.

When he came into work the next day, he said his wife had plastered the kitchen with 50 everywhere – so mine was pretty subtle 🙂

Then I have been making…….you guessed it……Christmas Cards!

I started writing mine out the other day, only to find there wasn’t enough, so I had to throw a few together, and they went together really well!

There have been some beautiful toppers in the December edition of Making Cards magazine. It’s the only  magazine I buy now, but I certainly recommend it. The card on the left was one of those toppers and the background paper. Really good quality too and the colours are beautiful. This photo doesn’t do it justice. I have also made a few cards using their Vintage Special Edition.

The next card was made using Creative Expressions Festive Holly die. I love the Sue Wilson dies but only own a few, and haven’t had much of a chance to play with them really, but the Holly die is beautiful and you can do a lot with it, as it has the left and right sided dies, hence the circle! Merry Christmas word die is by Cheery Lynn. They have fantastic variety of word dies, so have a peek, and they are reasonable too.

Next I went for a chalkboard look, I really like this effect, and once the Christmas rush is over, I plan to     experiment with some birthday cards. Here I have added some Marianne Anja Vintage Swirls fourishes and using a Martha Stewart punch, some branches, the same as I used on my previous Christmas card with Spellbinders Mix ‘n’ Match Ornament die.

Last but by no means least, I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and create a more modern Christmas card, with brighter colours. I really wasn’t sure I liked it at first but it has definitely grown on me, what do you think?

I am itching to show you another project but I have to wait until after Christmas in case the intended recipient gets a peek, but as soon as I can I will post the project here, and I haven’t forgotten that you never got to see my son’s wedding invitations, and that will be revealed in the not to distant future too!

Well I hope you are all getting well and truly into the spirit, and I wish you happy organising.
